Nikky
Co-Owner / Aesthetician
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!
Sean
Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector
I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing!

It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

What are HA Fillers exactly?
Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers suspended in a gel carrier. This gel allows the hyaluronic acids to stay in place when injected. The hyaluronic- acid immediately pulls in water. In this way, it increases volume. This is a great option for wrinkles, deep folds and other areas that need more volume such as cheeks and lips. These fillers can be dissolved naturally, with most lasting for at least one year. Some may last even longer.
There are many HA-fillers on offer. To deliver dramatic enhancements, we use Restylane as well as Juvederm. More options and customized results.
What are Neurotoxins, exactly?
Botox and Dysport are injectable neurotoxins that can temporarily help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive muscle contractions can lead to facial lines and wrinkles that get deeper and deeper over time. Botox, Dysport and Dysport temporarily relax these muscle contractions. The skin will appear smoother.
Common areas to treat include the forehead and frown lines. Although results are visible in a few days following treatment, the effects will last for two weeks. If the dose is correct, results can last up to four weeks.
What is Sculptra, exactly?
Sculptra uses poly-L lactic acids to slowly restore facial volume. It stimulates your skin's natural ability over time to produce collagen. Over time, the poly-L lactic acid is biodegraded to create a new meshwork of collagen. Treatment areas can include the jawline and temples. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. You can expect to see results for up to two years.
What is Kybella anyway?
Kybella is an approved injectable treatment that permanently eliminates fat cells. A single session may require up to five Kybella vials depending on how much fat is present. Additional sessions may be necessary depending on the extent of the treatment. The most common area to be treated is the submental, also known by the 'double-chin'. Treatments can stop once a desired aesthetic goal has been reached.
What is a Vitamin B-12 shot?
Vitamin B-12, an essential vitamin, is what our body needs to function well. This injection may improve energy levels, fatigue reduction, speed up metabolism and improve sleep patterns. It can also increase concentration, mood improvement, immune system boosting, and other benefits.
What is HydraFacial exactly?
HydraFacial treats all skin needs. It uses patented technology to clean, extract and hydrate the skin.
HydraFacial super serums are made with nourishing ingredients that create an instant glow in just a few steps.
The first step involves gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and reveal new layers. Then a light chemical peel is applied to help resurface the skin and prepare it for painless extractions. Next, debris is removed from the pores using painless suction while nourishing the skin. Last, antioxidants and peptides are infused into the skin to maximize the skin's glow. It is quick and easy!
What is Dermaplane and how does it work?
Dermaplaning removes the top layer of dead skin, hair, and debris using a medical-grade surgical knife. A single session can remove about 2-3 weeks worth of built up dead skin cells or debris. Dermplane has no side effects and is completely painless. Although it may look like shaving, dermplane is more efficient because the blade can reach the top layer of the skin. The hair does not get darker as dermaplaning is designed to target the vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz. It will grow back the same color and size. The way the surgeon cuts hair doesn't create thicker hair. There is no downtime with this treatment.
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin to remove the upper layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can improve skin texture and radiance as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also help decongest and treat acne-prone skin. Chemical peels can be performed in three strengths: deep, medium, or superficial. Your concerns and the type of peel you select will determine how much improvement your skin receives. Multiple treatments are recommended for most people to get the best results.
What is Clear + Brilliant Laser exactly?
Clear + Brilliant Laser's advanced technology is used to provide Clear + Brilliant treatments. Clear + Brilliant starts with a consultation. This allows you to discuss your concerns and determine whether Clear + Brilliant is right to treat them. Your practitioner can then recommend a Clear+Bright Laser treatment program. You have two options to choose from to address skin texture issues, such as fine lines/wrinkles or poor size or brown spot.
What is an Insta-Glo Facial?
Our signature Insta-Glo Facial will leave you glowing for days! This facial combines a HydroJelly masque along with a customized ampoule that is tailored to your skin.
First, clean and exfoliate your skin. Then the ampoule is applied and is infused into the skin using our Nano Infusion Pen. The HydroJelly masque can then be applied. The appropriate products are then applied to your skin. You are now ready to go! There is very little downtime with this treatment.
What is Microneedling and how can it help you?
Microneedling is a technique that causes micro-injuries to the skin. It stimulates the body’s natural wound healing process, while minimising cellular damage.
Depending on your results a series of 3 to 6 treatments may be recommended. This procedure has minimal downtime.
Lashes & Brows?
Our brows and lashes are important! As we all know, lashes and eyebrows are a major part of our overall aesthetic. Just as we color our hair, why not our eyebrows and lashes? A lash tint and brow tint can cause the illusion of them being fuller and longer by coloring the hair follicles from base to tip.
Take it up a notch with a lash lift. This can add a semi permanent curl to your lashes that can last up to 6 weeks. You can save time and avoid using mascara and lash curlers by doing a lash/brow tint or a lash lift instead.
Don't have time for a lash tint or lash extensions? Latisse is an alternative. In as little as eight weeks, this at-home treatment can lengthen your lashes and make them thicker and darker.
What is Medical Grade Skincare?
Perhaps you are wondering what medical grade skincare means. Well to start, these skincare products generally have higher active ingredient concentrations than anything you might find over the counter. That means quicker results in less time. Plus, medical-grade skincare products are able to penetrate your skin at a deeper level, unlike over-the-counter skincare products that are more superficial. Although certain products may be more costly than the over-the-counter options, you can rest assured that you're getting high quality products that have been clinically validated to deliver optimal results.
It sounds great, right? We think so. This is why we carry three top-rated medical-grade brands of skincare: SkinCeuticals, Alastin, and SkinMedica.
