Installation procedure

This tutorial gives information about the installation procedure of the official standard version of LASER/F (2.0.0 or greater).

Configuration:
Hardware: multicore PC, >= 8 GB RAM
Exploitation system : Windows 10 (64 bits)

Simply decompress the *.zip file in a directory. The decompression procedure will create the following directory structure:

  1. The main directory contains the executable file 'Laser.exe' and the 'triangle_64.dll' file

  2. A subdirectory entitled 'fichiers_defaut': this subdirectory contains default material files. It must not be deleted, moved or renamed, otherwise LASER/F will crash.

  3. A subdirectory added for demonstration purpose. It contains a simple demonstration project and can be deleted if necessary. The 'First use' tutorial explains how to exploit this project.

WARNING : be sure your Windows 10 exploitation system is configured by default to recognize the decimal part of numbers defined with a dot (.) and not a comma (,) otherwise LASER/F will not run properly (an error message appears). If it's the case, change your regional settings as explained below.

To change your regional settings (Windows 10),
1. In 'Start menu' make a search for 'Control Panel' and press enter
2. > 'Region'
3. > 'Additional Settings' (button)
4. replace your actual 'Decimal Symbol' by a dot (.)
5. > OK
