The Comet was my first foray into self publishing. It started out as a comics zine but soon expanded its scope into books, film and TV and other subjects. THE COMET #1 – Spring 1973. 36 pages, photo offset with yellow cover. 8 ½” x 11”. This fanzine features articles on comics of the day, plus fanzine and book reviews and a comic strip featuring classic fanzine characters Captain and Alter Ego written by John Pierce and illustrated by Larry Johnson. Some of the contributors include Cliff Kurowski, Jim Main, Dudley Meyer and Ed Savage. $12 ($14 outside US) MINT CONDITION
THE COMET #4 – Fall 1975. 50 pages, 8 ½” x 11”. ditto reproduction and offset cover by Ed Romero. Leading off with a lengthy article on the Shadow by Gino Membrino, this issue also features cartoons by Dave McDonnell and his column “Bradbury in Depth.” Big Band Review by Larry Jonhson is here, plus other features. Other contributors include Rod Snyder and Cliff Kurowski. $12 ($14 outside US) MINT CONDITION

THE COMET #5 – Fall 1987. 48 page digest size, offset printing, cardstock cover. Articles on comics characters Herbie and Fatman The Human Flying Saucer, plus comics by Larry Johnson – an episode of his character Zooy and a science fiction tale. Big Band Review is included and also work by Allan Freeman, Steve Shipley, and Bob Mosher $8.00. ($10 outside US) FINE CONDITION (with slight rust on staples causing a tiny stain in the gutter)
