Privacy statement

The LA only collects your data if you subscribe to our email newsletter and discussion group. We send periodic email notifications via MailChimp, and we maintain a Google Group discussion group. More detailed information is provided below:

What data are collected

The only personal data we collect are:

Your name

Your email address

Zipcode

Whether you want to volunteer (yes/no)

Permission to contact you via email and/or phone (yes/no)

Optionally, you may provide us:

Your telephone number

if you wish to volunteer for specific projects where it would be helpful to be able to text you.

Why the data are collected

The LA collects this data to notify you of email discussions, social media posts and public events related to our mission.

How are the data collected & stored

The data are collected when you sign up to be contacted on our website (see

https://larimeralliance.org/take-action/signup under the menu path Take Action > Signup).

The signup form places data directly into our MailChimp account.

We use the name and email to also sign you up on our discussion listserv, which is a Google Group for the LA.

What is the information used for & who has access to it

The LA collects this data to notify you of email discussions, social media posts and public events related to our mission. We also send out periodic press releases in the form of newsletter from Mailchimp. The only people who have access to this data is the webmaster and secretary for the Larimer Alliance.

How are users informed if the data policy changes

Registered users will be sent an email via the listserv if there is a need to notify them.

How can users with questions contact someone

Users may unsubscribe to either the MailChimp email notifications or the Google Group listserv by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of each email.

Because MailChimp and the Google Group listserv are separate platforms, users will need to unsubscribe from each of them individually.

How is the information protected

The information is protected by the cybersecurity policies in place at Google and Mailchimp. The webmaster may download the data to his home computer for necessary processing associated with LA campaigns, which is destroyed after campaign is over. The data are not made available to any other third parties or data processors.
