The course will go counterclockwise: N.O. -> Slidell -> Mandeville -> Ponchatoula -> Laplace -> N.O.
What is it?
Lap the Lake is a relay race covering 150ish miles on foot around Lake Pontchartrain. Teams of 6 will race in relay race format to complete the course. This is an unsupported race, meaning there are no aid stations. You will need a vehicle or vehicles to pick up and drop off runners and carry supplies. We will provide a general route that we think is the safest/fastest.
Teams of 6!
All miles must be run on foot and logged through GPS
Bike support while running is allowed (and encouraged)
Especially at night, narrow shouldered roads, major highways or just because it’s a nice thing to do in those lonely hours of the night
Obey all traffic regulations
Don’t leave trash on the route
Objectives:
Make it safely around the lake as quickly as you can
Cover all miles on foot
Have fun!
Requirements:
Vehicle/Vehicles to transport team
First Aid Kit
Cell phones, chargers
Head Lamps, chargers and/or extra batteries
For night runs - Lighted vests, reflective gear
Nutrition, Water, general supplies for running
