School plays a vital role in the development of an individual. In schools, the teachers ensure that they do not simply impart and share the necessary knowledge and skills that are needed to be learned by the students, but more importantly, the values that are needed to be embedded to the students to make them humane and productive citizens of the country in the future. Thus, it is essential that the school is equipped with sufficient classrooms that are conducive to learning, instructional materials that would enhance the learning of the students, teachers that are not only knowledgeable and have the know-how of teaching but of person with integrity most importantly, and school heads that have excellent leadership and managerial skills to be able to lay out the efficient and effective plan to ensure that the school’s operations would flow smoothly. Merriam Webster defines planning as the establishment of goals, policies, and procedures for a social or economic unit. As such, in any organization, planning is essential to achieve its goal or undertaking. In schools, school improvement plan is essential to ensure that it delivers its target goal in improving the quality of education, continuous faculty development program, providing sufficient classrooms, furniture, equipment, and the like. For the current school year, Lapidario Elementary School’s primary targets in the school improvement plan are zero dropout rate and ensuring that all pupils are all readers. For the previous school year, the school has recorded 37 drop out pupils; thus, the school has been identified as one of the top four elementary schools in the District of Trece Martires City with high dropout rate. Moreover, the school’s current Philiri result seems to reflect that there are a lot of pupils who have reading difficulties in terms of word recognition and comprehension. Thus, the school, in partnership with its community, would like to ensure that at the end of the current school year, that there would be reduction in the dropout rate and that all its pupils are readers since the school strongly believes that education is not a privilege but a basic human right that should be readily available to all. Hence, the school advocates that education is for all.
