My power button AND gyro went out mysteriously. After reading a few other posts, I whacked the power button corner against my coffee table two or three times until they worked. Two or three whacks did the trick--not hard but firm. Hard enough to kill an ant, but not hard enough to drive a nail.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
The power button and volume buttons are attached to the same ribbon cable. It's possible that either the ribbon cable has been damaged, or the connector where the ribbon cable connects to the mother board has popped loose.
Yesterday suddenly my phone started to do weird things The power button didnt work and either the volumen +. However I went to the recovery mode to restart the phone and see if it worked and all buttons worked tho I couldnt restart it because it kept going to he recovery mode. About a month ago, when we changed our WiFi internet from spectrum to att. The roku, all of a sudden started disconnecting. We would re-synced or re-connected it but, it stayed doing that everyday. Until about a few weeks ago, we got another tv and moved the roku upstairs. The roku doesnt disconnect anymore, but now only volume and power button work on the remote, nothing else. How can I fix it or do I need to buy a new roku?
I have the same issue. What I noticed is that the remote was getting slow to respond when I wanted to change channels on the streaming video. So, I followed the steps to unplug the streaming stick for 10 seconds, replugged it into my tv, changed out the batteries, pressed the pairing button (it continues to keep flashing green), and the pairing window never popped up (like the instructions said it would). So, now, the only buttons that work on the remote are the power button and the volume button.
Unplug the power from the stick+, then plug it back in when it stops bouncing press and hold the pairing key for 3 seconds and release, allow it to communicate with roku. It is alright if the light goes out don't a press a thing until you get a big DONE on screen.
What I have tried is simple: I have a Key Pressed block (Volume up) and connected the Yes and Up nodes to an Interact (Lock Screen) I have managed to Lock the screen when using the Volume up button. All good here, and 90% of the problem is gone since I can unlock it with fingerprint.

Hello! My Xfinity xr15 remote isn't working. When I press down on either the volume controls or mute button, the light just turns red. It is not low battery because the remote control is at 96%. I have tried resetting the tv box and re pairing the remote but it doesn't work. Everything else like channels and buttons do work. The volume only works if I use another remote that is not meant for X1 but changing TV input. My xfinity tv is updated too. Please help
Did you try unpairing and then repairing to see if that solves it? If its the XR15 press and hold the A + D Buttons for 3 seconds and then LED lights should flash. After that enter 981 on the remote to factory reset it. To repair, press the Xfinity and info buttons for 3 seconds and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Same issue with volume buttons. XR11 remote. Unpaired and then re-paired remote multiple times, did restart of box as well as system refresh. Works intermittently. This issue started about 60 days ago. Never had a problem before. Got a new remote, same issue.
SOLUTION:
I found out, that the Fairphone uses the same buttons as the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (and for sure some others use the same button too). By this knowledge I bought one at [ebay] 1 . The easiest way to be sure you got the right one is to compare the images. The one in the Fairphone looks like the one on the ebay link or in the Youtube video (see below).
There is also a goot [tutorial on Youtube] 2 which explaines how to replace the button.
I managed to replace it just with a soldering iron. For instructions on how to dissassamble the Fairphone I recommend looking on iFixit.
My son tried to turn his tablet on but held the volume key at same time as power button, a message came up saying if you proceed it will download something so my husband tried to cancel or go back but the only button that would respond to being pressed was the volume key and now the tablet is frozen on a screen with the Android pic and writing in top left corner showing product: GT-P5210, current binary: samsung official and system status: Official
Best bet is to let the battery die completely, then charge it and turn it on normally. I just put a tab 3 into download mode myself after reading this post to see if there was an easy way out, none of the normal methods work (power + vol down/up/home). So from what i can see you just gotta drain it then charge it :) hope this helps.
Everybody seems have a complex way of solving this, but my galaxy tab 2 7.0" gets out of that screen simply by ____________________________________________. It turns off and then you just turn it back on ( hopefully booting into the OS unlike mine currently is haha .. personal separate issue tho
I recently purchased a new TV - a Sansui 32" HD TV - which is actually the second TV i have purchased to try and get to work with my chromecast. I had previously purchased a Caixun Tv only to find google chromecast does not support that brand. I double checked before purchasing my current one, and verified that Sansui is indeed a brand supported by chromecast. When I tried to set up my remote however, I am encountering the same issues. The remote is unable to power the TV on and off, as well as control volume or change the input source.
The whole reason I wanted the chromecast remote was to perform these functions and although everything appears as if it should work smoothly, it is not. I have tried a factory reset on the chromecast device, I have ensured that CEC for the TV itself is on and enabled, but I still cannot get those buttons to work. Its extremely frustrating because I do not want to have multiple remotes lying around. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do or how to resolve the issue?
I am able to set up the remote and the core functions work, however its the power, volume, and source buttons that are not working properly. The power button on the remote works to turn both the chromecast and TV on, but when turning it off only works on the chromecast (the TV itself remains on and I have to shut it down using the TV remote). I made sure that CEC was enabled on the TV before trying to repair the remote and set it up again, but it doesnt seem to work.

So sometimes when I'm using my iPhone 8 Plus, there is a huuuuuge lag between the press on the volume or power key, and reaction to this press.For volume key it's 1-3 seconds, for power key it is sometimes up to 10 seconds. And sometimes the phone just ignores it completely.
