LUCS would like to extend a warm welcome to all freshers and returning students for the upcoming academic year. Our first meeting will take place on 12th October at 6PM in Elizabeth Livingston lecture theatre (and continuing at the same time and place every Wednesday).

Lancaster University Conservative Society is dissatisfied with how Lancaster University Students' Union has conducted the recent by-election for the position of President.

We believe that Re-Open Nominations (RON) is a vital and necessary part of any student election, and therefore it should have been made clearer to the student body as to how this result was reached, without breaching the confidentiality of complainants in the case.

Our Union should be transparent with the student body and we believe in this episode they fell short.

We have released this statement in conjunction with the Lancaster University Liberal Democrats and Lancaster University Labour Club because we believe this is an important cross-party issue at Lancaster University.
