Postdoctoral fellowship opportunity
Interested candidates are invited to apply for a one-time postdoctoral fellowship opportunity through Canada's Impact+ program (details here). The fellowship is valued at 70 000 CAD$ per year for two years, with a flexible start date before March 2027. Only candidates currently working or studying outside of Canada are eligible.
Candidates should hold a PhD in physics or be in the final months of their PhD program. Applicants with interests in topological phases of matter, two-dimensional quantum materials and devices, superconductivity, collective modes, and related topics are invited to send their CV, brief research statement and 2 letters of reference directly by email to: etienne.lantagne-hurtubise@usherbrooke.ca before January 30th.
A successful candidate would be embedded within the dynamic quantum community at Institut Quantique, Université de Sherbrooke, and have the opportunity to collaborate with other quantum matter theory groups (Profs. Ion Garate, Maia Vergniory, David Sénéchal) depending on mutual interests.
Brief presentation
I am a condensed matter theorist at Université de Sherbrooke (Institut Quantique) since February 2025. My group is broadly interested in topological and correlated phases of quantum matter (with a recent focus on symmetry breaking and superconductivity in 2D materials) and their signatures in various experimental probes.
More details on recent research can be found here.
