For the development and better understanding of the Language-health intersection
The mission of the project is to explore and improve the intersection between language and health, with a focus on understanding how language use and communication can impact health outcomes. This project seeks to develop new strategies and interventions that can enhance the effectiveness of healthcare communication, improve patient outcomes, and reduce health disparities. By bringing together experts from diverse fields, including linguistics, psychology, medicine, statistics and public health, this project aims to generate new insights into the complex relationship between language and health, and to develop innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare today.
We get a better understanding of the challenges faced by patients and medical professionals due to socio-lingual barriers
We get a better understanding about the challenges facing SLP (Speech Language Pathology) in India
We get a better understanding of the effects on COVID-19 ( and other diseases) awareness programs and information dissemination.
We also understand the effects of language barriers on Health policy, and the effective methodologies for overcoming these difficulties
