Title: Some local and global aspects of the relative Langlands programme via examples
Abstract: We will discuss period integrals and distinguished representations for some spherical pairs (G,H) where G is GL(n). We will explain known results for such pairs, and how they agree with predictions of Sakellaridis-Venkatesh, and Ben-Zvi-Sakellaridis-Venkatesh.
