Representations of p-adic groups and the Local Langlands Correspondence
Title: Representations of p-adic groups and the Local Langlands Correspondence
Abstract: The goal of this course is to introduce participants to the main objects involved in the classical local Langlands correspondences for p-adic groups, namely smooth representations of such groups and L-parameters (on the Galois side). The running examples will mainly be GL(2,F) and SL(2,F), for F a non-Archimedean local field with finite residue field of characteristic p, but we will try to keep a general framework (for arbitrary connected reductive groups) as often as possible. A certain familiarity with local fields and basic representation theory would be useful, but is not absolutely mandatory.
