"Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air." — Tupac Shakur
Now in its third year, the Student Voice Summit is a student-requested, student-led gathering that brings together more than 250 students from across Lane County — across districts, identities, and lived experiences. This year's theme is a love letter to students — to their beauty and brilliance in a world that can feel heavy. It's thinking about what it takes to grow through concrete, and what becomes possible when people show up alongside you who see you and believe in you.
THE THREE AREAS OF THE DAY
01 · Concrete — Understanding the World We're In: Explore what's really happening in your schools and communities — including the weight of burnout, isolation, and the work of systems change. Name the systems, the barriers, and the brilliance already pushing through.
02 · Roots — Where We Come From: Two dedicated spaces: one centered on immigrant youth and Spanish-speaking students, one for LGBTQ2SIA+ students. Connection, creative expression, and finding strength in each other the beauty of our communities and cultures.
03 · Blooms — Imagining What Could Be: Art, play, and imagination as tools for survival and change. Project sessions include a D&D campaign where students build characters rooted in their own strengths and identities — then bring those talents together to overcome real challenges. Plus a music and art studio where students work alongside professional musicians, producers, and artists to create a Roses Through Concrete mixtape and poster series.
The 2026 Student Voice Summit has reserved spots for students from every high school in Lane County — and we want yours filled. Whether you're a student ready to sign up or an advisor registering your school's group, the process is the same.

I'm a student. Click below to let us know you are interested in attending — or talk to your advisor or regional equity coordinator (4J, Bethel & SPS) if you need help registering.
I'm an advisor or district staff. Register your students using the link below. We encourage you to think about who in your community has the most to gain from a day of connection, affirmation, and expanded possibility — especially students who may not see themselves in traditional leadership spaces.
