Our Story

Maria Smith has been maintaining landscapes in the Puna area for over 20 years. Her interest in agriculture stemmed from her own backyard, growing a large variety of vegetables, fruit, flowers, foliage and trees. Realizing her passion for nature, she expanded to share her gift of a green thumb and eye for beauty with the community. Maria has been exclusively servicing the Kapoho Beach Lots community while her husband Don "Smitty" operated their exotic orchid farm, Far East Orchids, in the same area. On June 2, 2018 lava covered the Kapoho Beach Lots community, but they are determined to start anew.
