LandLordTax Privacy Policy

LandLordTax respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the LandLordTax application.

1. Overview

LandLordTax is a rental record-organizing and tax-preparation support app. The app is designed primarily as a local-first application. This Privacy Policy explains what information you may enter into the app, where that information is stored, how subscriptions are handled, how advertising is provided, and what happens when you export or share information.

2. Information You Enter

Depending on the features you use, you may enter your first and last name, email address, rental property information, income and expense records, notes, photos, supporting documents, tax years and generated reports.

3. Local Storage

LandLordTax is designed to keep its core rental records, documents, photos and generated reports on your device. The app does not require an account or a cloud database for its core functionality. Information you enter is not automatically published or shared by the app.

4. Advertising

The free version of LandLordTax displays advertisements using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. LandLordTax may display banner advertisements and occasional full-screen/interstitial advertisements.

5. Information Processed for Advertising

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process certain information for advertising, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, diagnostics, security and service performance. Depending on the applicable configuration and laws, this may include your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate general location; device or advertising identifiers; advertising data such as advertisements shown or interacted with; diagnostic information; performance information; and information about interactions with the app or advertisements.

6. Google AdMob

Advertising in LandLordTax is provided by Google AdMob. Google may process information collected through the Google Mobile Ads SDK according to Google's applicable privacy policies and advertising policies. LandLordTax does not receive or store a user's advertising profile created by Google.

7. Your Rental and Tax Information Is Not Provided to Advertisers

LandLordTax does not intentionally send your rental property records, rental income, expense records, tax information, receipts, uploaded documents or generated tax reports to Google AdMob for advertising purposes. These records remain part of the app's local data unless you intentionally export, share or otherwise transfer them.

8. Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising

Depending on your location, applicable laws and your consent choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized. Where required, Google may request consent before using certain personal information for personalized advertising.

9. Privacy Choices and Consent

For users in regions where consent is required, LandLordTax may use Google's User Messaging Platform to present privacy and advertising consent choices. Available privacy choices may depend on your location and applicable laws. Where applicable, users may be able to change or withdraw their advertising privacy choices through the privacy options provided by Google.

10. Pro Subscription and Advertising

LandLordTax Pro is an optional subscription that removes advertisements from the app while the subscription is active. Users without an active Pro subscription may receive advertisements in the free version of the app.

11. In-App Purchases

LandLordTax offers optional auto-renewable LandLordTax Pro subscriptions. The current subscription options are $3.99 per month and $29.99 per year. Purchases and subscription status are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit.

12. Payment Information

LandLordTax does not collect or store your payment card number, bank account information or other payment credentials. Payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple's processing of payment and transaction information is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

13. Purchase Restoration

The app provides a Restore Subscription feature that can be used to synchronize eligible previous purchases with the current installation. The availability and status of subscriptions are determined by Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems.

14. Sharing and Export

If you use the app's export or sharing features, you choose the destination through Apple's system sharing interface. A copy may then be stored or transmitted by the service or app you select. Those external copies are governed by the privacy practices of the destination you choose.

15. Documents and Photos

LandLordTax may allow you to attach receipts, documents or images to your records. These files are used to support the functionality of the app and are stored locally on your device unless you intentionally share or export them. LandLordTax does not upload your receipts, documents or tax records to its own servers.

16. Notifications

If you enable reminders, LandLordTax schedules local notifications on your device. These reminders are used to help you record rental activity and rent payments. You can disable notifications through the app or your device settings.

17. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. Because most LandLordTax information is stored locally on your device, you are also responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including its passcode, operating-system security, backups and access permissions. No electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

18. Data Deletion

The Delete All Data feature removes rental records, profile information, stored documents, photos, generated report files and reminder settings maintained by the app on the device.

Copies that you previously exported, shared or saved outside the app are not controlled by this deletion feature and must be removed from those destinations separately.

App Store purchase and subscription records are maintained by Apple and are not removed by this feature.

Advertising-related information processed by Google is subject to Google's applicable privacy practices.

19. Third-Party Services

LandLordTax uses third-party services necessary to provide certain functionality.

Apple App Store and StoreKit are used for subscriptions and payment processing.

Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK are used to provide advertisements in the free version of the app.

These third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

20. Children's Privacy

LandLordTax is not directed to children and is intended for adults who manage rental property records. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own services.

21. Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing. You may also have rights regarding personalized advertising or the use of advertising identifiers. Some advertising privacy controls may be managed through Google or your device settings. Applicable privacy rights depend on your jurisdiction.

22. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app's functionality, advertising services, subscription services, legal requirements or data practices change. When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be published in the app and at the official Privacy Policy website with a new effective date.
