Hi, I’m LaNae Childress, writer of wild worlds, late-night plot twists, and characters who never do what I tell them to.
I’ve been building stories in my head since I was old enough to daydream, but now I write them down, usually with a strong cup of coffee nearby and a playlist full of dramatic music in the background. I write for anyone who’s ever felt a little too much, questioned everything, or wondered what’s really waiting in the dark.
When I’m not writing, you can find me playing video games, reading graphic novels, hunting down indie bookstores, rewatching Vampire Diaries, or losing at board games.
Thanks for stepping into my strange little universe. I’m so glad you’re here.
.I’m LaNae Childress, an 18-year-old author with a love for creating vivid worlds where danger, emotion, and imagination collide. I was born in Lubbock, Texas, and raised in both El Paso and McKinney, which gave me a unique mix of small-town warmth and big-city curiosity. My passion for storytelling started young, fueled by a lifelong fascination with what if—those moments when reality bends, and the impossible suddenly feels close enough to touch.
I’m currently a student at Lamar University, where I’m double majoring in Political Science & Legal Studies, as well as International Relations & Diplomatic Studies. When I’m not writing, you can usually find me studying, exploring new ideas about global issues, or volunteering at local animal shelters—a cause close to my heart. I believe that the way we treat animals says a lot about the kind of world we want to live in, and that belief often sneaks its way into my stories.
My books are for readers who want to feel like they’ve stepped into another reality—where the settings are alive, the stakes are high, and the characters feel like old friends (or enemies). Whether I’m crafting a post-apocalyptic train ride across a dying country or a deadly magical trial in an ancient forest, my goal is always the same: to take you somewhere unforgettable. Thanks for visiting my corner of the internet—I hope you find something here that makes you want to turn the page.
