Hi, I am Lan. I am an assistant professor at the Department of ECE, and an affiliate assistant professor at the Department of CS, Michigan Technological University (MTU).

My research interest spans the area of wireless communications, distributed machine learning, cybersecurity, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems (CPS).

I received my Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida (UF) under the supervision of Dr. Yuguang Fang.

I am looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students who are interested in solving real-world machine learning, cyber-physical systems, wireless communications, and cybersecurity challenges (full financial support as RA).   • 10/20: Our research was funded ($20k) by the College of Engineering (CoE) from MTU about COVID-19 activity management.

  • 08/20: I joined the ECE department, MTU, as a tenure-track assistant professor.

  • 08/20: I served as a TCP member of NeurIPS-SpicyFL (NIPS) 2020 Workshop on Scalability, Privacy, and Security in Federated Learning.

  • 07/20: I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation!
