Using Fusion 360, design a 3-dimensional Vase to be fabricated using Laser Cutting.
Tutorials
First I had to watch the tutorials to learn how to form 3d bodies using different tools; revolve, loft, extrude,...
This one we used the same to polygons in the sketch + loft (activated 3D lines and splines from preferences)
This one too is done using revolve but drawing the sphere required half a circle not a full one to be drawn.
In the first tutorial, I came out with how to extrude a basic shape that can be empty inside...using extrude and shell options.
Here we made the sketch of the cross-section then revolve order...then shell we used shell in all the forms though to form the cavity inside.
Another one was about cutting this form using another body...Also extrude but with cutting option within the order.
Here we need to draw the outline and cross-section then sweep!!...also shell.
Videos:
First, we made the outline.
Second, Revolve, shell.
Third, we made the planes to split the shape.
then, slip body.
then another sketch to draw the sticks.
then extrude but with the intersect option.
A Circular pattern around the axe...24
Finally changed the materials or the colors
and exported the bodies to .STL
I had a problem with the bottom of the vase it was removed. Video
First, I started with the base...duplicate...to make the grooves I used a circle and circular pattern then trim and extrude.
The hammer head was made with and extrude...duplicate twice
Shell to open the cylinder to form the outer sticks (outer layer)
The first one I did the sticks with an extrude but (intersect) kind of extrude then circular pattern
and the last one extrude (intersect) and copy to form the two circles revolving around
Finally the pen place (Offset plane)...circle and Extrude.
I Had an issue regarding the lower part of the vase
when I was applying the split step then the extrusion of the pattern it disappears
Therefore, I asked during Saturday's session and it was because I drew it in the same sketch
Then, I tried to draw it in another sketch and it worked!!
This is the Final Result....
Prepared the STL file with estimated time 1h 27 min, < 90 min. and used filament 13.86 gm < 25 gm
Another approach for the pen holder was the Neuron Cube
I had to remove the irregular part from the model as it too 5 hrs and a half (estimated time), also I had to rescale it so that it can function and meet the requirements at the same time plus I lowered the infill to 5% instead of 15%
The Coolest thing was being able to learn and apply on a whole program in like two weeks only and being able to form complex shapes with joints and visualize it before printing....This was insane!!!
I made a present for a friend, his wife and his 2 little boys was for the whole family to share and play together and they loved it!!! I was so happy!!
