In the framework of CAN 2025 organization in Morocco, we would like to inform you of a temporary measure regarding entry into Morocco for holders of a regular passport from the following countries: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.
From September 25, 2025, to January 25, 2026, entry into Morocco will be subject to the Electronic Travel Authorization for Morocco (ETAM). Presentation of the ETAM in printed form is mandatory during departure and arrival formalities.
How to obtain the ETAM:
To attend CAN 2025, the ETAM must be requested via the ‘YALLA’ application of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
For any other travel purpose (tourism, business, family visit, etc.), the request must be made at least 96 hours before departure via the portal: www.acces-maroc.ma
Certain categories are exempt from this measure:
Holders of diplomatic, service, special, or official passports.
Residents in Morocco holding a valid residence permit.
Travelers in transit through Moroccan airports (without leaving the international area).
Travelers married to a Moroccan national (with proof).
Travelers over 55 years of age.
This measure is temporary.
If you are traveling with other passengers under the same booking reference, please ensure they are also informed.

Flights
Casablanca Airport is served by many direct flights from many corners in the world. Also, there are several budget flights to other airports that are easily accessible from Casablanca.
1- Casablanca airport: You take the train from the airport to the city centre. You get off either at 'Casa Voyageurs' or 'Casa port'. Then you take a tram or taxi to your hotel.
2- Rabat Airport: You can find cheaper flights to Rabat, which is located one hour from Casablanca. From the airport, you take a bus or a taxi to train station ‘Rabat Ville’, then train to Casablanca which takes one hour.
3- Tangier Airport: From the airport, you take a taxi to the train station (100 MAD-150 MAD). Then, you take the high-speed train (Al Boraq) to Casablanca; the trip lasts two hours.
4- Marrakech Airport: You take the bus from the airport to the train station (10 minutes). Then the train leaves every two hours to Casablanca. The trip lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes.

12 November: a visit to the must-see sites in Casablanca will be arranged for those who arrive the day before the conference.

Currency
The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). It’s a good idea to carry some cash with you. While hotels, larger restaurants, and many shops accept cards, cash is still widely used for transportation, small shops, markets, and street food.

Taxis
Small taxis are color coded by city: red in Casablanca, blue in Rabat, beige in Marrakech.
Always make sure the taxi meter is turned on and pay only the amount displayed.
Taxi prices from airport are fixed with a slight rise after 8pm
If you prefer using an app, Indrive is the equivalent of Uber in Morocco.
Electricity
Morocco uses Type C/E plugs (European standard, 220 V).
Weather
Expect mild and somewhat cool conditions. Daytime highs are usually around 20-22°C, while nighttime lows tend to drop to 11°C.
