Plan and implement programs for meetings - both personal and professional
Obtain CPE credit if appropriate
Special Projects/Outreach
Work with Grants in Aid Committee to support the TAFE students in the SBISD High Schools
Connect with two schools selected to support teachers, provide for teachers needs, and deploy books to students in grades 1 & 3. Provide a book for each classroom teacher in grades 1 & 3 for their classroom library.
Work with the Fundraising Committee to collect funds to support the outreach.
Nurture future leaders
Submit a slate with at least one nominee for each elective office in the spring of even numbered years
Recognize member achievements (personal and professional)
Select recipient of the Virginia Johnson award
Conduct elections for officers prior to March 15 in even numbered years
Chair sends in the Chapter Officer Contact Information to TSO by March 15 in even numbered years
Award Grant in Aid to high school senior
Solicit applicants
Choose recipients
Collect paperwork - share with committee members
Track effectiveness of grant
Work with Outreach Projects Committee to fundraise
Encourage chapter members to apply for state and international society scholarships and grants
Encourage members to apply for the Texas State Aspiring Educator Award
Encourage members to apply for State Leadership Seminar and International Leadership/Management Seminar
