 Who are we?

Lalaga Fa'atasi are a Pasifika Education support network based in Ngāmotu.  We support Pasifika students and families through the journey of education.   

Through our Pasifika methodologies we connect with families to enhance progress for students in education.  We nurture culture and language to engage families and identify pathways of progress and success.

Foundation…

The Pacific Education Plan (PEP) 2020-2030 maps the foundation to transforming outcomes for Pasifika students and families. It identifies how we will achieve system change to better support Pasifika students and families in five key areas. 

Our Vision showcases the structures and processes of design through methodologies that are unique to Pasifika: 

• We work reciprocally with our Pacific communities to respond to unmet needs.

• We confront systemic racism and discrimination in education.

• We enable every teacher, leader and educational professional to take coordinated action to become culturally competent with diverse Pacific learners. 

• We partner with families to design education opportunities together with teachers, leaders and educational professionals.

• We grow, retain and value highly competent teachers, leaders and educational professionals with diverse Pacific heritage.
