Flood Exposure Mapping- Kerala
Flood is one of the main hazards in Kerala, with almost 15% of the total area prone to floods. Understanding the area and population exposed to floods enables better rescue and rehabilitation plans.

Situated in the south-western corner of India.
Arabian Sea to the west and the Western Ghats to the east
Total geographic area - 38,863 sq. km.
Topography - hot and wet coastal plain gradually rising in elevation to the high hills and mountains
