The Learning Commons is open again! Classes have scheduled periods to come and enjoy the space and all the Learning Commons has to offer. Within the Division's safety regulations, students are welcome to use the space for reading, research, group collaborative work, games, and studying. Most importantly, the Learning Commons is a space for students to feel encouraged to use their imaginations – as libraries have been through the ages!

Miss Mustard loves reading aloud to students and hearing all the students’ weekly book reviews during class visits!

The G.S. Lakie Learning Commons has a terrific space and an amazing library collection, but Miss Mustard is always ready to hear about new titles that students would like to see added to the collection, as well as other ways we can improve the Learning Commons. In addition to the extensive hard copy collection of books that we have in our Learning Commons, there is also a large collection of eBooks that can be accessed by logging into Destiny Discover and then going to the Follett Shelf tab, or through the OverDrive app, Sora.

The Learning Commons at G.S. Lakie also offers an extensive array of technology that students are able to check out for school-related projects. This technology (including laptops, iPads, iPods, digital cameras, and many other items) is intended to help students with projects, research, multimedia applications, and developing responsible online citizenship habits.
