The Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is a student-led outdoor education project at the University of Oregon. The Wild Wanderers 2024 team, created and implemented three 30-minute classroom lessons and one all-day field trip curriculum to Mount Pisgah Arboretum. The team collaborated with three local elementary schools and reached over 300 students in eight weeks. Our mission was to support students' inquiries in ways that encouraged confidence and gave them a sense of belonging in the natural world.Â
The Wild Wanderers 2024 team consisted of 10 undergraduate students who led lessons and practiced scientific observation skills throughout the day with first and second grade students.
