Ontario's Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grants support parent engagement in their community. This year, we've received a PRO grant to host a Rocket STEM Night at Lakewood Elementary!
Join us on the track at the school for a rocket launch!
Students will help assemble the rockets, and we'll watch 12+ rockets soar into the sky while we all learn together about aerodynamics, flight, and the science behind rockets.

Let's celebrate another school year with games, food trucks, prizes, and so much fun!
Let us know if you can volunteer! Events like this are only possible with parent volunteers. You don't have to spend the whole event on duty — sign up for a time slot for only part of the event, or for set up before or cleanup after, and spend the rest of the time at your leisure!

Snack Program
Snack Program
Some Parent Council events are just for fun, and others are fundraisers.
Parent Council fundraisers support a number of projects and initiatives at Lakewood at different times and make sure the Snack Program stays stocked year round.
With these funds, the Snack Program makes sure nutritious food is always available for any Laker who might need a little extra.
The Snack Program is completely volunteer led and funded entirely by donations and fundraisers.
You can donate directly to the Snack Program at any time through School Cash Online.

Get ready for a night of brain-teasing fun at Lakewood Elementary’s Trivia Night Fundraiser!
Proceeds support "Lakewood Links: A Laptop for Every Learner."
Trivia AND Dinner: food will be available to purchase from Kaley's Restaurant! Drink tickets will also be available for purchase at this licensed pub trivia event.
Hosted by local parent and former Jeopardy! contestant, Steven Spriensma, this event promises fun questions, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs. Gather a team of up to 8 players and test your knowledge!

This annual holiday craft sale and generally jolly and joy-filled day is the biggest parent council event of the year!
Join us the last Saturday in November when families can buy their students' special handmade crafts, browse and shop local vendors, try their luck at the Penny Table and Lucky Draw, bring home some sweet treats from the Bake Sale, stop by the Book Fair, decorate cookies, make crafts, get faces painted, and maybe even see Santa!
This is a completely volunteer-run event put on by Lakewood families, so check out our Volunteer Page to see how you can help make the magic happen.

Join us in the gym on the day before Halloween for an evening of FUN!
Admission:
$5 for a single student and their family
$10 for families with two or more students
FREE for families of event volunteers
There will be food and drink tickets for sale, and donations going to soundproof the gym.
Please note food and drinks are not permitted inside the gym. We need to protect the wonderful new gym floor that was recently installed! There will be no pop this year for that reason.
We'll have pizza, popcorn, candy bags, and water. And with all the fun to be had, water is always very much needed at the Halloween Dance! And candy, of course.

Can you volunteer to help with hot dogs, beverages, set-up, or clean-up at this year's Meet the Teacher BBQ?
These events are only possible with the dedication of parent volunteers.
Volunteer sign-ups are set up so that volunteers get a chance to participate as well as spend a bit of time helping out while they're there.

Join us for a parents' night out of pub trivia fun!

Lakewood Elementary is pleased to present our Annual Santa Sale!
Dating back to 1949 (now in its 75th year), it started at Port Dover Public School, moved with us to Doverwood and now has its home at Lakewood.
We are excited to offer for sale the wonderful handmade crafts by our students that make the holidays even brighter! This is the centre of the entire event and we're proud to continue the tradition.
Our Penny Tables and Lucky Draw are a popular part of the day as well as the Big Guy himself - Santa will be there to sit with the kids while you take a photo and they get to pass their list on
There is an EPIC bake table , tea room, cookie decorating, face painting and craft stations for the kids, as well as pizza and drinks to purchase for lunch.
*The Book Fair is a popular gift giving opportunity and you'll find it set up with lots of room to roam in the Learning Commons THE FOLLOWING WEEK. Be sure the kids make a wish list!*
And last but CERTAINLY not least, we have a wide assortment of Vendors who will have everything from handmade items to popular direct sale items. We'll add the list here so you'll know as we firm it up (Vendors please feel free to tag your pages below in the comments!)
