Who We Are

Lakeview Probus provides retired and semi-retired people with a broad range of activities and social events, interesting guest speakers, and the chance to have fun and fellowship with the people in their community.  Our club is one of over 240 clubs in Canada, and more than 4,000 worldwide.

Purpose

To stimulate thought, interest and participation in activities at a time in life when it is easy to become complacent.

Membership

Membership in Lakeview Probus Club is open to retired and semi-retired individuals. Membership is primarily, but not limited to, the Shuswap and surrounding communities of British Columbia. Annual membership fees are $30, payable each September.

Our Meetings

The Lakeview Probus Club meets on the first Thursday of each month except July and August. (Date may move to avoid conflicts with holidays.)

We meet at the Blind Bay Memorial Hall (2510 Blind Bay Road).

Meetings start at 10:00 am, but the hall is open at 9:30 for coffee/tea and a time to meet and greet friends.

After about 30 minutes of fellowship, regular meetings involve a short business meeting and a special interest speaker or activity.

Members have the option of going out for lunch following the meeting.

Events and Activities

These are limited only by the imagination of our members!

Some of our All-Club Events include men’s and ladies’ luncheons, summer picnic, annual Christmas party, potlucks, suppers out, car rally and games nights.

Some of our Small-Group Activities include golfing, walking, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, book club and camping.

All it takes to start a new event or activity is a few interested people and someone to volunteer to coordinate.
