We made Lakeside Fusion because we love to dance. We love to dance with open minded people with warm open hearts. Lakeside Fusion is an event aimed at encouraging self expression at its finest through dance, music, play and interactions with others all in a beautiful natural setting. We hope that by bringing everyone together in one space for a couple days that we can forge deeper connections and friendships between the dancers here. Our Aim is to create a safe space where people feel free to move and shake their bodies in a multitude of ways, and to laugh and share their inner sparkle with those around them. Bullying, unkind words, harassment, discrimination, hate speech and violence are not acceptable behavior in this space. Consent is of utmost importance at this event. Please practice good consent by asking permission before touching others that you have not previously gotten consent from. Please remember that consent can be taken away at any time and it is just as important to respect it then as any other time.
People are encouraged to practice good self care. If you are having a hard time being around others and being kind and courteous then please excuse or remove yourself from that space and get the self care you need. We have separate cabins for private time. These can be used for private time by yourself or with company. Please leave these rooms in as good, or better, condition than you found them.
There are bears in the area so there is to be no food in the cabins! This is for the safety of everyone on site as well as for the safety of the bears. A fed bear is a dead bear.
We (Bronwyn, Liam, Lyrica, Patrick, Paula) created this event to celebrate dance and create an awesome weekend to do that. The 5 of us have put in a lot of work to organize and plan this weekend so that everyone who comes has the chance to have a wonderful time. Please remember that does not make us responsible for your time, your actions or the actions of every person attending this event. We will do our best to curate this event and organize it in such a way that we hope will produce an awesome group of people attending who are all aimed at having a fun, positive time. If anything goes wrong or happens that might prevent that outcome please let us know ASAP and we will try to find solutions wherever possible. With that in mind please remember that while we are the ones running the event it’s each and every attendee that is making it the experience it is. Please bring your best self and act with compassion to others during this weekend. We ask that you be gentle with each other and with us.
Part of creating a safe space for us means creating a clothing optional and sex positive environment. We want people to be able to express themselves organically and if for you that means being naked feel free to do so down by the water (you are also not required to be naked! Wear the level of clothing that makes you feel most comfortable). Sex positive means that we won’t shame you if you are a sexual being, nor for wanting to express that, we just ask that you do so in one of the designated private rooms. In the main hall where the food and dances happen we expect genitals to be covered. This is a requirement for renting this space, please respect the young serving staff by wearing bottoms here.
Sleeping spaces are shared and designated for sleeping and quiet time. There are lots of other spaces to be social in if you wish so please keep voices down and talking to a minimum in cabins and yurts.
Lakeside Fusion is a space for people who love to dance to come together and enjoy movement and connection. Connection with yourself, the music, each other and your environment. We’ve picked a beautiful natural setting for this event, please be respectful of the site.
