Every year the Lake Preston Forward recognizes someone that has impacted Lake Preston.

This year we recognize the “Late Benny Mogler” award.

Benny Mogler was a humble, kind and intelligent man with a sense of humor. He didn’t have an easy life as a child or an adult. His father died when he was a Senior in High School. So he had to dive right into the work force. That work ethic benefited him greatly as he achieved many positions and was trained in electrical, welding and soldering. Benny became Maintenance Supervisor for the LP Clinic, Nursing Home and other facilities in the surrounding area.

After losing his first wife Merri to cancer he raised his three children, Khristy, Jason and Amy on his own. He continued to show unconditional love and commitment to his family by helping raise his grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy!

Benny served this community by volunteering on an Ambulance Crew for 10 years. The city council, then Mayor of Lake Preston for over 20 yrs. He would help anyone in need. As his health declined he still would offer his knowledge and walk them through the process when asked.

A quote from Benny, “I have always been the type who wanted to help, wanted to contribute.”
