Adam Laird is a University of Illinois C-U graduate with a degree in Music Education. He has a diverse teaching background including private brass lessons, classroom general music, choir, and band. He also has experience in basic woodwind instrument repair and working in several different musical retail environments.
Adam has extensive performance experience as a french horn player. In high school, he was a member of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO), Brass Choir and, Chamber Music Institute. While studying at the University of Illinois, he played with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Wind Orchestra, the French Horn Studio, the French Horn Choir, various chamber ensembles, the Pep Band, Volleyball Band, and he was a member of Marching Illini mellophone section when the band performed at the 2015 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He is currently a member of the Palatine Community Band.
Outside of teaching, Adam enjoys travel, learning new things, playing video games, watching TV and movies, and making goofy things (like full size Stormtrooper and Fallout helmets) on his 3D printers. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
