Laia Bosque-Mercader

Welcome to my website!

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. I am affiliated to the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) and the Centre for Research in Economics and Health at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (CRES-UPF). I was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitat de Barcelona and the University of Oxford. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of York.

My research is primarily on applied microeconomics related to health, family, education, and labor. My latest work aims at understanding how family-friendly policies, including public childcare and parental leave, play a significant role in shaping family health and household dynamics.
