Come as you are. Most participants will wear "business casual."
Individual Papers
Individual papers are oral presentations. Papers will be read aloud or presented extemporaneously at the conference. Individual papers should be roughly 8 pgs double-spaced in length and must be read in no more than 15 minutes. You will be assigned to a panel with two other presenters, whose papers relate to yours either chronologically or thematically. The panel will have approximately 1 hour for all three presentations, with time for audience Q & A at the end. Slideshow presentations are not required, but you may choose to use one. A computer, overhead projector, and clicker will be provided.
Assemble your own panel of 3 individual paper presentations that relate to one another either chronologically or on a theme. Each panel will have approximately 1 hour to present, with each presenter speaking for no more than 15 minutes and with time for audience Q & A at the end. Slideshow presentations are not required, but you may choose to use one. A computer, overhead projector, and clicker will be provided.
Posters must be printed in advance and should be 48 x 36" in size; easels, backing board, and clips will be provided. Poster sessions will run for approximately 1 hour, during which time the presenter is expected to stand by their poster in order to speak to judges and answer questions. You should prepare "talking points" of approximately 3-5 minutes to explain your poster.
A roundtable is an organized conversation between 3-5 participants and a moderator who hold a discussion or debate on a specific theme. Participants should have considerable knowledge of the subject, in order to converse freely. Roundtables should be no more than 30 minutes in length.
A workshop is a hands-on session where the presenter leads an interactive activity with the audience that communicates a new skill or specialized knowledge to the audience. Workshops should be no more than 30 min in length.
