This collaborative review project between the Centre for Future Materials, University of Southern Queensland, and CINEC aims to evaluate the application of Fibre Reinforced Composites (FRCs) in marine deck structures, particularly under harsh underwater conditions. The study explores the mechanical performance, durability, and corrosion resistance of various FRCs in marine environments, addressing their potential to replace traditional materials. Emphasis is placed on improving the lifespan, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing environmental sustainability of marine decks. Supervised by Dr. Janitha Jeewantha and Dr. Indika Perera, this review supports the development of advanced, resilient materials for marine infrastructure.
This review project investigates engineering innovations in the logistics and transportation of perishable vegetables, focusing on digital tools for effective supply-demand management. Conducted in collaboration with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and CINEC, the study examines Sri Lanka’s current post-harvest logistics challenges and compares them with international best practices. Supervised by Dr. Nipuna Chamara and Dr. Indika Perera, the project aims to identify technological solutions that improve efficiency, traceability, and sustainability in the supply chain. The findings are intended to support policy and system upgrades that minimize spoilage, reduce post-harvest losses, and ensure food security through smart logistics innovations.
