This privacy policy describes how the LagOff - Gaming Optimization Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information. The Extension is published by the LagOff project.
We do not sell your data.
We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the Extension.
Performance settings are stored locally in your browser via Chrome storage.
Desktop PC stats are read only from your own computer at 127.0.0.1 when the LagOff desktop app is running.
The Extension saves preferences on your device using chrome.storage.local, such as refresh interval, optional desktop port, and notification preferences. This data never leaves your browser unless you uninstall the Extension or clear extension data.
When you choose optimization actions, the Extension uses the browsingData permission to clear browser cache, indexed databases, file systems, service workers, and similar temporary data. It does not delete passwords, cookies used for logins, browsing history, or form data by default. Optimization runs only when you trigger it.
The Extension makes network requests only for these purposes:
Ping / latency checks — lightweight requests to Google and Cloudflare endpoints to measure connection latency.
LagOff desktop integration — HTTP requests to http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost on your PC to read live CPU, RAM, ping, and GPU stats from the LagOff desktop application. No desktop data is sent to external servers.
No account registration inside the Extension
No browsing history collection
No keystroke or page content collection
No sale or sharing of personal information with advertisers
Ping tests contact third-party hosts (Google, Cloudflare) only to measure round-trip time. The Extension does not transmit your identity or browsing activity to those services beyond a normal HTTP request.
The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy when the Extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect revisions. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
