La Ferme Victoire was founded by Miss Marie-Victoire Aku Ahewfa Amuzu, driven by the challenges she faced as a single mother, limited job opportunities, and low income. Before establishing the farm, she created various job opportunities for herself and others, including working as a househelp for five years, starting a cleaning service business in 2014, and later manufacturing LIMIE cleaning products in 2016. Despite some setbacks, she also worked as a French and Art teacher while continuing to sell her cleaning products to schools and restaurants.
In 2018, an encounter with a restaurant manager led Miss Marie-Victoire to diversify into vegetable distribution. This new venture grew quickly, and she began sourcing fresh produce from local market women, eventually supplying eight restaurants. Her curiosity about the source of the vegetables led her to self-teach gardening and eventually launch a farm.
After traveling across Ghana to find the ideal location, she founded La Ferme Victoire in Juapong with her savings, expanding from one acre to five acres. With her innovative, industrious, and resilient nature, she gained trust from family and friends, securing investments to further grow the farm. Miss Marie-Victoire left her teaching career and cleaning service businesses behind to focus on farming, and she continued her education in agricultural training.
Today, La Ferme Victoire is a thriving company that has created job opportunities, empowered youth, provided profitable returns for investors, and inspired others to persevere through adversity.
La Ferme Victoire faced several early challenges, including difficulty finding reliable farmhands, the impact of climate change, poor road infrastructure for transporting produce, pricing issues, limited knowledge of technology, insufficient finances for projects, and sourcing quality seeds.
Our growth began when we recruited farmhands from reliable sources and secured sponsored scholarships for entrepreneurship and farming management training. We gained opportunities to pitch our business to top investors, embraced technology to expand our reach, and implemented modern farming techniques such as irrigation systems during droughts. We also improved seed selection and introduced investment packages, helping us expand and thrive as a business
Consistency, passion, and a strong, committed team have been key to our success. Our dedication to customer and investor satisfaction has shaped our ongoing growth and continues to drive our progress.
