These are the highest priority moves that our players need to master from U6 to U12. Moves need to be executed at speed in unopposed, semi-opposed and fully opposed situations off both sides. Technical details are key. What happends before (scan, add disguise) during (when, distance, which side of the body, how, which parts of foot, use of arms and upperbody) and after (next action, burst in to space, complete a pass or a shot, support next player) Advanced players should be encouraged to combine multiple moves back to back.
● Inside & Outside Cuts: Plant non-kicking foot alongside ball; chop sharply using inside/outside foot; drop hips and accelerate into open grass.
● Cruyff Turn: Exaggerate kicking leg backswing to fake shot/pass; plant standing foot ahead; hook ball behind standing leg; turn 180° and explode.
● L-Turn / Pull-Push Behind: Shield with body; pull ball back with sole to standing heel; tap behind standing leg with instep; turn 90° and escape.
● V-Turn / V-Cut: Bait defender; drag ball back diagonally toward opposite hip using sole; snap out diagonally at 45° with outside of foot.
● Step-Over & Scissors: Circle foot around front (Scissors) or top (Step-Over) 1.5–2 yards off defender; drop shoulder feint; burst past with opposite foot.
● 360 spin (Maradonna): Sole of lead foot on ball; rotate body 180°; sole of second foot drags ball through as body completes 360° spin; burst into space
