Audition Day Q+A

Q: How long will auditions take?

Plan for up to 3 hours.

What to expect:

• • Group Audition: 1-2 hours

  • Parent Meeting: Approximately 40 minutes (required)

  • Named Role Auditions: Additional small-group auditions for students interested in principal roles

Good to know:

• • Students auditioning for ensemble only may finish earlier.

  • Once your student has completed their audition and the parent meeting is finished, you are free to leave.

  • Families with students in multiple age groups should plan for a longer day.

Why so long?

We want every student to have a positive experience and a fair opportunity to be seen. As this program continues to grow, we hope to make the process even more efficient in future years.

Q: What does my student need to prepare?

If your student wants to be in the show:

• No preparation required

• If your student wants a named role:

  • • • Review the Audition Details (available October 14)

      • Prepare the required audition materials listed in the packet details

Q: What happens during auditions?

Group Auditions

Students will participate in fun, age-appropriate theater activities designed to help us get to know them.

Activities may include:

• • Creative theater games

  • Simple acting exercises

  • Movement activities

  • Speaking a short line with a group

Named Role Auditions

Students interested in a named role will participate in a small-group audition and present prepared material from the audition packet details.

This may include:

• • Memorized dialogue or a monologue

  • A short song selection (for younger students)
