Whether your journal in the margins of your Bible, or write in separate notebook or even type your thoughts online, there is obviously no right or wrong way to record your thoughts with the Lord. Having said that, I am fond of paper and pencil while I read. I will admit that I get a bit distracted with the notifications and bright lights of my computer or phone and I have enough distractions just being a mom and wife.

I think journaling my thoughts and understandings is super important for growing my faith. It lets me come back and reread my notes and revise my ideas over the years. It also gives my a chance to talk with others about my thoughts and readings without having to remember what I was thinking weeks ago. (Yes, I have serious mom brain most of the time.)
