"Ladies of Lee," Attends the Family Resource Fair in Pennington Gap
On May 27, 2025, Healthy Families of SWVA held a Family Resource Fair. The Ladies of Lee were honored to be part of this event. It was a fun filled day of meeting members of our community and supporting our corner of Southwest Virginia. There were approximately 40 vendors present for this event, and Ladies of Lee was thrilled to be among them.
"Ladies of Lee," raffled off a free Basket of Goodies, handed out buttons, pins, frisbees and coloring pages to the children. We had a lot of fun networking with others and talking about our plans for future contributions to our community. We were happy to be there and explain our mission and visions for the future of Lee County, Virginia.
"Ladies of Lee" Partners with the Lee County Virginia Extension Office & Feeding South West Virginia.
On June 11, 2024, the Lee County, Virginia, Extension Office and Feeding Southwest Virginia partnered to distribute food boxes to neighbors in need, marking the beginning of a series of summer distributions aimed at supporting local families. The Ladies of Lee furthered our mission to uplift and empower children by collaborating with Firstbook.org to promote literacy and learning. During this outreach event, we provided digital book codes to encourage reading and gifted LEGO sets to spark creativity and hands-on engagement. Through these joint efforts, we continue our commitment to nurturing both the minds and well-being of families in our community.
Thank you to the Lee County Extension Office and Feeding Southwest Virginia for having us be a part of your event! Through these combined efforts, we remain committed to nurturing both the minds and well-being of families in our community.
On August 1st, we had the privilege of attending the Shoe Distribution event organized by River Baptist Church at 29348 Wilderness Rd. in Jonesville, VA. During the event, Joyce and Shannon were busy handing out Lego Bags and books to the children, bringing smiles and excitement to many faces. It was heartwarming to see the community come together, and I truly believe the event was a success. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve and connect with our neighbors in such a meaningful way.
