Carolina serves as Academic Counselor at Los Angeles City College. Carolina immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 14 from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her journey through higher education as an undocumented student posed multiple challenges, however attending community college proved to be the needed stepping stone to strengthen her skills, explore her interests, and establish strong support systems. All of these experiences fueled her passion to become a mentor and work with diverse student populations who experience educational, financial, language barriers and personal challenges. After earning her BA in Anthropology from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) she went on to earn a Master Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Southern California (USC). Most recently, Carolina has been focusing on the impact on mental health in the undocumented student experience and is in the process of earning a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Social Emotional Learning certifications for educators through Breathe for Change. Today, Carolina is the Counselor/Coordinator for the LACC Dream Resource Center (DRC) where she serves undocumented students with the goal of enabling them to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
