The 7th Annual Liberal Arts Colleges Public and Labor Economics Conference (LAC-PaL) will be held at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, 2027.
LAC-PaL brings together researchers at liberal arts colleges who work in the fields of Public and Labor Economics (broadly defined). Programs from previous conferences are available on the LAC-PaL website. We are thrilled that Mushfiq Mobarak (Yale University) will deliver this year's keynote address.
The conference will run for a day and a half. We will begin on Thursday morning (May 20) and conclude with lunch on Friday (May 21), wrapping up by about 2pm so that participants can catch afternoon and evening flights home. The program will include regular paper sessions as well as a "Lightning Session" of shorter presentations for those who would like feedback on early-stage work.
To be considered for a regular session, please submit a full paper (early and preliminary drafts are welcome). To be considered for the lightning session, please submit an extended abstract (max 1,000 words). Submissions should have at least one co-author at a liberal arts college. Please submit your paper or extended abstract as a PDF via this form by Monday, January 11, 2027. Decisions will be sent in mid-February.
