Wednesday Bushong, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Cognitive & Linguistic Sciences and Psychology, Wellesley College

Wednesday holds a Ph.D. in Brain & Cognitive Sciences from University of Rochester. Their research program investigates language understanding, with a focus on how people use the statistical structure of language to perceive speech sounds, parse sentences, and more.

Emily is a Psy.D. student at University of Hartford. She studies how self-esteem and beliefs about academic achievement and intelligence are related to standardized testing.

Kiara Rayford

Kiara is a Psy.D. student at University of Hartford. She investigates how stigmatizing language affects perception of eating disorders.

Undergraduate Students

Vivi Cardenas-Habell

Viviana is a sophomore at Wellesley majoring in Cognitive & Linguistic Sciences + Anthropology. In the lab, she is working on projects related to speech adaptation. She enjoys trying new foods, card games, and (fictional) murder mysteries.

Elayna Espinal

Elayna is a psychology major at University of Hartford working on projects related to speech adaptation.

Molly Doherty

Molly is a psychology and sociology double major at University of Hartford working on projects related to speech adaptation.

Lee Mercado

Lee is a first-year at Wellesley College planning to double major in Computer Science and Cognitive & Linguistic Sciences with a concentration in Linguistics. They are currently working on projects related to speech adaptation. In their free time, they love to read, play video games, and go on walks around campus!
