After all the tumultuous drama and the ups and downs, Labour has still proven again its ability and dedication to serve New Zealand and stand up for New Zealanders in this Parliament term.
We have worked together with the Green Party to deliver an opposition to effectively hold the Government in account and introduce many bills to help Kiwis live better.
However, we may not rest. New Zealand, along with the rest of the World, is facing many challenges, most notably that of radical ideologies that will only cause chaos. The National-Reform Coalition has tried to fool Aotearoa New Zealand with their no-attendance MPs, claiming that they will work for us. The Reform Party and many of its members are plotting to deny our proud multicultural heritage and turn New Zealand into a xenophobic, backwards country by restricting our immigration and directing hatred towards ethnic minorities, such as Asians and immigrants. And other radicals, no matter from the left or right, are trying to twist the truth by shaping it as an opinion so that they can destabilize our well-established values-based moderate social democracy.
To defend our great homeland from pointless radicalism, xenophobia, and destruction of our core social values, Labour will restlessly fight in Parliament for our citizens and our treasured values of equality, justice, liberty, and truth.
The New Zealand Labour Party has served and fought for Aotearoa New Zealand for 102 years. And we will continue on.
This point in time is where a most pivotal decision must be made. A decision of the future of New Zealand, a decision on how we want to be seen on the international stage and how we want to set our path looking towards the future.
Parties such as National and Reform wish to keep us in the past, stopping progress and stopping our political force of achieving equality. Reform wish to divide and conquer, and push us further away from the international community and our goal of peace. They wish to discriminate against immigrants and ethnic minorities, threatening the very institutions that uphold our international reputation.
The Labour party will oppose this. We are the party for the people, fighting at every opportunity to ensure the rights of all those who call Aotearoa New Zealand home. No matter your gender, religion, race, sexuality, economic status, or any other societal symbol, we stand with you. We fight for the rights of the many, not the few, and fight to enshrine the voice of the country.
This election, vote for the party who stands with you and our community. Vote for the party fighting for equality and for progressive changes. Remember to vote Labour in the upcoming election.
