Autumn 2026 Elections
I am running an X/Twitter feed on the Autumn elections here at present - to be updated.
Elections are below. Any assumed deadlines (do check directly on those) are set out above.
More to be added shortly on the nominations
Past Internal Election Results are on the Labour Archive Page.
Election Slates
Main slates, groups and Independents
Labour to Win + Labour First + Progress (LTW/LF) - Slate probably appointed by Officers/Board/Commmittee
Mainstream + Open Labour (Main) - Slate balloted among members here and agreed here.
Momentum + CLPD (Mom/CLPD) - slate probably agreed by brokerage of a range of overlapping political and equality strand groups. They have a candidate site here.
Restoration (Rest) - Presumably agreed by any committee they have. Aim is to promote Working Class candidates across the slates
Independents (Ind)
These are also a number of women specific slates running for the Labour National Women's Committee
Labour Women Lead - aligned with Momentum/CLPD slate
NEC Contested Roles
All the contests are listed below with some commentary in bold red.
In overview we may see some small changes in the CLP section as the soft left Mainstream group establish a base on the NEC which could be at the expense of 1 Right or Left seat? Important to note though, that 3 Mainstream on the NEC would only be an advance of 1 seat on the Ann Black/Cat Arnold soft left seats of 2024 so this is less of a big gain and more reflecting a trend already established in 2024 which was possibly not considered so significant then.
The Wales seat is always highly contested and could well swing left this time in the Senedd election aftermath?
At the same time it is arguable that the unopposed Disabled Rep seat is switching from left to soft left.
Thus overall less a big change in elected seats than some might expect with the right possibly down -1/-2 to soft left and left =/-1. As I cover elsewhere on Labour Dashboard page with estimates on NEC composition, the Leader/Frontbench NEC Rep change may be more significant in numbers change than the actual election results
NEC CLP Reps - 9 to elect
An early list of candidates was here.
Candidates/Slates who have made the ballot:
LTW/LF: 4 - 374 Nominations - 42%
Mainstream: 3 - 305 Nominations - 35%
Mom/CLPD 3 - 131 Nominations - 15%
Restoration 2 - 16 Nominations - 2%
Independent 5 - 57 Nominations - 6%
Total: 17 (standing for 9 seats)
Current Result Estimate: LTW/LF 3-4, Main 3, Mom/CLPD 2-3, Rest 0-1, Ind 0-1 (this is a very tentative estimate based on past results, nominations, incumbency trends & a re-estimate of nominations based on Jess Barnard having been eligible to be nominated all through suggesting 8 seats look reasonably clear but 4 groups could be in a battle for the final seat. Possible more likely potential seat outcomes could be 4-3-2, 3-3-2-1, and 3-3-3.
Past NEC results are here.
LTW/LF - 4 candidates on ballot
Jane Thomas (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 106 nominations
Abdi Duale (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 98 nominations
Angela Davies (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 85 nominations
Peter Mason (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 85 nominations
Mainstream - 3 candidates on ballot
Cat Arnold (Main) - sitting NEC member - 107 nominations
Kerry Postlewhite (Main) - 100 nominations
Jovan Owusu-Nepaul (Main) - 98 nominations
Momentum/CLPD - 3 candidates on ballot
Gemma Bolton (Mom/CLPD) - sitting NEC member - 58 nominations
Yasmine Dar (Mom/CLPD) - sitting NEC member - 54 nominations
Jess Barnard (Mom/CLPD) - sitting NEC member - 27 nominations (Note: these are lower as she was suspended as a member for part of the nomination period)
Note Minesh Parekh has withdrawn. He stood to replace Jess Barnard if her suspension was not lifted.
Restoration - 2 Candidates on Ballot
Andrew Achilleos (Rest) - 10 nominations
Stella Tsantekidou (Rest) - 6 nominations
The following three candidates from Restoration failed to secure 5 CLP nominations
Sam Theodoridi (Rest)
David Littlefair (Rest)
Jake Croft (Rest)
Independent - 4 candidates on ballot
Some have stood before and polled quite well in the ballot, though none have been elected yet.
James Turnbull (Ind) – 18 nominations
Zahida Abbas Noori (Ind) - 16 nominations
John Wiseman (Ind) - 9 nominations
George Davies (Ind) - 8 nominations
Neeraj Patil (ind) – 6 nominations
NEC Local Gov Reps - 2 to elect
Claire Holland (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 42 Nominations
Peter Wheeler (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 40 Nominations
Elizabeth Dennis (Main) - 11 Nominations
Jamie Green (Mom) - 7 Nominations
Based on past nominations and votes this looks likely to see no change.
NEC Welsh Rep
Ann Jones (LTW/LF) - sitting NEC member - 11 Nominations
Mick Antoniw (WLG/Mom/CLPD?) - 16 Nominations
Note: This looks like a seat where we could see a change compared to 2024.
NEC Youth Rep
Caspar Chatham (Ind) - 7 Nominations
Elsie Greenwood (LTW/LF) (GMB) sitting NEC member - 66 Nominations
Based on nominations, level of union support and recent Young Labour elections this looks likely to see no change.
NEC and National Officer Posts - Elected Unopposed
NEC Disability Rep
Emily Pomroy-Smith (Ind) (Unite)
This was assumed to be a contest, but the Unions have backed Emily Pomroy-Smith who ran as an Independent for CAC last year and she has been elected unopposed. Having stood on a soft left slate with Cat Arnold in 2024, it is assumed she will as well as aligning with left leaning unions, also align with the likely Maistream reps likely to be elected to the NEC. As her predecessor was previously endorsed by Momentum/CLPD it could be argued this is a small shift from 2015-19 era Left to Soft Left.
NEC BAME Rep
Carol Sewell (Unison)
NEC Treasurer
Ruth Brady (GMB)
Auditors
Chris Kitchen (NUM)
Gwlyan Brinkworth (GMB)
Other Party Committee Elections by Conference Delegates
Based on nominations some of the CLP Rep contests below may look closer than some think, but based on the 2025 Conference Delegate composition link which can be found on the Labour Dachboard page, it is likely these may see up to 70%+ LTW/LF wins. The most interesting thing may be to see if candidates backed by Mainstream poll better than Momentum/CLPD candidates?
National Constitutional Committee
NCC CLP Reps
LTW/LF Slate
Alice Smart (LTW/LF) - 58 Nominations
Sheri-Ann Bhim (LTW/LF) - 57 Nominations

Spring 2026 Elections - Labour Students and Young Labour
Labour Students (officers, regional and other representatives) and the Young Labour National Committee (officers, trade union, socialist society and regional representatives) will be elected in spring 2026, so that committees are in place before university freshers’ fairs.
Two main slates so far:
Organise backed by Labour to Win, Labour First and Progress
Renew backed by people from Mainstream, Open Labour and Momentum
Original Election Result
My tweet on the results here. In summary:
In the balloted seats Organise slate seems 2 have won 10-8 on Young Labour Executive & 20-3 on Labour Students Executive compared to Renew slate based on latter's score.
Important 2 note here that there were 18 Ballot places on Young Labour Committee & 23 on Labour Students which are not the only Executive places as on Young Labour there are TU/Soc Soc/Coop/Lab Stud/NEC+NPF reps which add 16 for a total of 34 plus also Wales/Scottish Labour Student reps on Lab Students exec for a total of 25.
As a result of above, it's a rough estimate, but I would expect the composition of the two Committees would be:
Re-Run Election Results
Note: 16/03/26 - Due to what looks like an administrative error, (use of 12 months freeze date instead of 6 months) both elections are now being rerun. New results will be posted below.
In summary and based on the Renew slate report here:
In the balloted seats Organise slate seems 2 have won 13-5 on Young Labour Executive & 22-1 on Labour Students Executive compared to Renew slate based on latter's score.
Young Labour: Organise + allies 26, Renew + allies 8 - new committee will be listed here.
Labour Students: Organise 24, Renew 1
