Development of decision-making

Life outcomes depend critically on how we make day-to-day decisions. Research has shown that education can influence those outcomes by shaping our decision-making abilities.

We are social animals but how does this develop. This presentation addresses recent research about the developmental trajectory of other-regarding concerns.

Theory of mind (ToM) is the ability to attribute beliefs, intents and emotions to others, and to understand that they differ from one's own. This ability is critical to interact with others. It develops gradually and imperfectly.
