OVERVIEW
Label Lab does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You design labels with text, barcodes and QR codes, shapes, icons and photos, fill them from a number series or a CSV file, and print them on label sheets. Your projects and their photos are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services and an advertising mediation partner for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
CAMERA, PHOTOS, AND FILES
The app asks for camera permission only when you choose to take a photo to put on a label. You can instead choose an existing photo; the system photo picker gives the app only the photo you pick and needs no library permission. The photo is reduced (1200 pixels wide, JPEG) and copied into the app's own folder; the app does not add it to your photo library and does not upload it. If you decline the camera, the app tells you how to allow it in Settings, and you can still pick a photo instead.
When you choose a CSV file for a label run, the app reads that file (up to 2 MB) on your device and saves its rows, its file name and your column choices inside the project, because the labels are printed from them. Do not import more personal data (for example address lists) than you need for your labels.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
- Projects: name (up to 60 characters), sheet and label size, up to 200 design elements (text, barcode or QR content, shapes, icons and photos), the data source settings (single label, number series, or CSV rows and column mapping), number of copies, sheet cells marked as used, the printer profile, and the dates created, changed and last printed.
- Settings: your own sheet sizes, printer profiles (name up to 40 characters) and print calibrations.
There is no fixed limit on the number of projects. One print job is limited to 5000 labels, and up to 999 copies per label. Deleted projects go to Trash; the project and the photos it still uses are removed the first time the app is opened after 30 days in Trash (or sooner if you delete them forever). Photos you earlier removed from a design or replaced are not deleted by the app and stay in its folder until you clear the app's data or delete the app. The app also keeps a list of deleted project IDs with their deletion times, without a limit, so that an older backup cannot silently bring deleted projects back.
The app may also store basic operating information such as cached advertising settings and a cached More Apps list.
The developer does not run a server that receives your labels. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not upload your projects, CSV data or photos. When you open More Apps, app icons are loaded from the web addresses in that list.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, screen views, opening the menu, the privacy policy or More Apps, review-prompt outcomes and rating taps from the menu, ad revenue events, on iOS the tracking-prompt decision (whether the prompt is shown and why, the tracking status and the consent status), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. Feature events record when you create a project (with the sheet size ID), import a CSV (number of rows), open printing or share a PDF (number of labels and whether it worked), share a label image, mark labels as printed, or save or restore a backup (number of projects, parts and missing photos). These events do not include label text, barcode content, CSV contents, project names or photos.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may also request ads from the InMobi mediation network. Google and InMobi may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app has no location permission.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
The only feature permission the app requests is the camera, as described above. It does not request location, microphone, contacts, Bluetooth, health data, or notifications. Printing goes through your device's print service or a PDF; the app does not connect directly to printers.
When the app starts, Google's consent message (UMP) is checked first. Where it is required (for example in the EEA and UK), personalized advertising stays off unless your choice allows it. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown only after that step and only if you have not answered it before; it is normally skipped when you have declined personalized ads in Google's consent message where EU-style consent rules apply (such as the EEA and UK), but it may still appear if the app cannot read the result of that message. If tracking is not allowed, the IDFA is not available to the app or its ad partners. If the consent message cannot be loaded, the app still requests non-personalized ads, the iOS tracking prompt may still appear, and personalized advertising stays off. The app works whatever you choose.
You can change iOS tracking and camera permissions in Settings. Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
You can move a project to Trash from the Projects list and, in "Backup & Trash" (at the bottom of Projects), restore it, delete it forever, or let it be removed after 30 days. You can also clear the app's data on Android or delete the app. Local data may be included in an Apple, Google, or device backup depending on your backup settings; uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
Files leave the app only when you choose: printing hands a PDF of your labels to the system print dialog and the printer you select, "Share PDF" and "Share label as image" hand a file to the system share sheet, and "Save backup" in Backup & Trash creates files with every project outside Trash, its photos and CSV rows, your sizes, printers, calibrations and deletion records; projects in Trash and their photos are not included in the backup (one file through the share sheet; several files to a folder you pick on Android, or one by one through the share sheet on iOS). PDF and PNG files are written to the app's cache and may stay there until the system clears it; backup files shared from the cache are removed after sharing. The app does not delete copies you saved or sent elsewhere. Restore reads backup files you pick.
Because we do not receive your projects, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google or InMobi, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Data processed by third parties is retained according to their service settings and policies. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your projects and photos are kept in the app's private storage on your device, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a passcode. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services and the ad mediation partner uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app collects to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Print position depends on your printer, paper and calibration; print a test sheet on plain paper before using label sheets. Scan printed barcodes and QR codes to check them before you rely on them, for example for shipping, stock or pricing. Shipping and address labels do not replace a carrier's own required labels or forms.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
