Yamaha Music Education System (YMES) is a comprehensive curriculum to help students develop their musicality. Besides playing piano, we also develop their listening skill, singing skill, reading skill ,and creativity.

Our fun curriculum and colorful books make learning become a fun event but not a chore. Children will find playing piano and making music is so easy and fun. However, the biggest difference between YMES and other the traditional piano methods is learning through listen and sing, but not read.

Reading notes is not the only way to learn the piano. Especially for children at young age, reading notes can be very confusing and frustrating. It is because their logic development is not ready yet. However, their strong auditory sense can help them learn through listening and singing. By singing the solfege (Do Re Mi), children can easily trace the fingers on the piano and play the tune without reading the notes. When children grow up to age 7 & 8, their reading skill and logical sense become more mature. And note reading will become much easier to them.

Over the years, we've encountered many frustrated parents and students due to conflicted created by practicing the piano. Through YMES, we have been successfully help many students grow love and passion on music.
