Prof. Dr. Hyun-seung Kim,
Sungkyunkwan University, Natural Sciences Campus
Department of Energy
Department of Battery Science and Engineering
Dr. Kim earned his Ph.D. from Seoul National University (Advisor: Prof. Seung M. Oh) and subsequently conducted research at LG Chem (present, LG Energy Solution) Battery R&D, focusing on electrolyte development, analysis of degradation mechanisms in EV and ESS batteries, and the identification of key physical parameters for electrochemical modeling. He then joined the Advanced Batteries Research Center at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), where he worked on advancing current-generation batteries such as lithium-ion batteries, as well as developing materials, electrodes, and cell technologies to enhance the performance of next-generation systems, including lithium-metal, sodium-ion, and all-solid-state batteries. Dr. Kim is currently a faculty member at Sungkyunkwan University, continuing his research in these areas.
Applications open for graduate students.
