Hello I am Labanya and welcome to my website! Currently my work lies broadly at the intersection of political economy, energy, environment and development economics. My research interests can be broadly categorized into following categories
Corruption in energy markets.
Electricity markets (especially causes and impact of blackouts)
Transition of electricity generation using renewable energy.
Health impacts of air pollution from electricity generated using fossil fuel generation.
Energy burden and energy insecurity.
I am also an avid lover of psychology and love reading about impact of mindset, addictive behaviors on educational and labor market outcomes.
I earned my Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University.
I have taught at Kennesaw State University from 2021-2023 and currently I am working as a Visiting Assistant Professor of economics at Agnes Scott College.
I am a curious person and I love reading and appreciate good sense of humor.
