Hello I am Labanya and welcome to my website! Currently my work lies broadly at the intersection of political economy, energy, environment, labor and development economics. My research areas are following.
Impact of governance(institutional structure, corruption) on electricity reliability.
Impact of climate change on electricity reliability.
Economic impact of power outages.
Labor market impact of energy transition.
Labor market and health impact of electricity generated by fossil fuels.
Energy burden and energy insecurity.
Electricity pricing and regulation.
I am also an avid lover of psychology and love reading about impact of mindset, addictive behaviors on educational and labor market outcomes. Apart from that I am also love using open source programming languages like R and Python and promoting the use of those languages in the economics community.
I earned my Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University.
I have taught at Kennesaw State University from 2021-2023 and currently I am working as a Visiting Assistant Professor of economics at Agnes Scott College.
I am a curious person and I love reading and appreciate good sense of humor.
