Hello I am Labanya and welcome to my website! I am an applied economist who loves electricity markets and energy research. My research interests include electricity markets (grid resilience, electricity regulation), health and labor market impact of energy transition and pollution, energy inequality, energy burden, energy poverty and energy governance. I also love coding in R and Python. I love using machine learning techniques to forecast and uncover stories from data. Currently I am learning GitHub, SQL and PowerBI. 

I am also an avid lover of psychology and love reading about impact of mindset and addictive behaviors on labor market outcomes.

I earned my Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University in 2024.

I have taught at Kennesaw State University from 2021-2023 and I worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of economics at Agnes Scott College from 2024 to 2025.

I am a curious person and I love reading and appreciate good sense of humor.
