Non-Destructive Evaluation and Smart Sensing Laboratory

LabEND-SI aims to develop modern methods of nondestructive evaluation for engineering and science applications using robotics and artificial intelligence tools.

We are part of the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Academic Program (RYMA) at CINVESTAV-Saltillo which is one of ten research branches belonging to the Research Center for Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) .

Research Area

Ultrasonic and electromagnetic wave propagation modeling; studies on guided waves and ultrasonic tomography. Development of traditional and non-traditional methods of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE); Studies on the application of artificial intelligence and smart sensing in the development of modern NDE methods.

Current focus:

  • Guided waves
