MISSION
We seek to provide space for public communicators, researchers, and community representatives to connect and collaborate. We aim to improve alert and warning content, systems, policies, and processes. This will enhance our individual and collective ability to better provide all community members with accurate, timely, and useful information during emergencies and disasters.
GOALS
Compile best practices for language and disability access in alert and warning
Create a repository of translated and community-vetted message templates
Share lessons learned about alert and warning-related community outreach
Share high-quality, on-call translation and interpretation resources
Advocate for improved language and disability access in alerting systems
Cultivate workgroup membership and expand the LAAWW knowledge base
Provide space for networking and professional development
